We love kids and want them to feel seen, safe, and valued at church!
In Grove Kids, we believe children aren’t just the future of the Church—they’re an important part of it right now. That’s why we’ve designed an experience that helps kids explore who God is, build friendships and discover how deeply they are loved. Every week, our team of passionate, trained, background-checked volunteers create a space where kids can engage with the Bible through storytelling, worship, creative activities, and curiosity-driven conversations.
This isn't childcare—it’s spiritual formation. We partner with families to nurture a resilient faith rooted in God’s goodness and love.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
We’re honored to welcome your family! On your first Sunday, come in through the main doors and one of our friendly volunteers will help you get your children registered and settled in. After that, check-in stations near each classroom make drop-off easy and secure. If your child has specific needs—such as communication style, learning preferences, sensory sensitivities, or toileting support—please email our Grove Kids Pastor, Jill Nelson, at jill@albanygrove.com. We’d love to make a plan that helps your child feel supported and successful.
Our Grove Kids Classes
Littles (0–3 years after September 1)
In this warm, cozy, welcoming room with age-appropriate toys and a caring team, our youngest kids experience safety and love as they play, hear a Bible story, and enjoy a simple craft or activity. We provide pagers so you can be contacted at any time.

Preschool (3 years before Sept 1–Pre-K)
Our preschool lessons are designed to help kids discover who God is and how He loves us. Each month focuses on one Big Truth about God, taught through engaging Bible stories, joyful worship, and hands-on play. We believe preschoolers are fully capable of experiencing God’s love and responding to it in real ways. That’s why we create space for wonder, repetition, and relationship. Some months we revisit one story several times from different angles to deepen understanding; other months connect multiple stories around a shared theme. Every part of the morning is designed to be developmentally appropriate, emotionally safe, and rooted in God’s goodness.
Elementary (K–5th Grade)
In our elementary class, kids are invited to discover who God is by exploring the stories of the Bible and how those stories show us what God is like. Each month centers on one attribute of God and we spend it encountering that truth through connected Bible stories. We love the faith of children, and that faith grows best when they can wonder, wrestle, play, and practice together.
Our gatherings include live storytelling, worship, interactive games, and space to ask real questions. Kids connect in both large group experiences and smaller group conversations where they can be known and heard. We focus not just on what to believe, but on helping kids experience God's goodness, because the same God we read about in the Bible is still at work in their lives today.
